Each year the University of Florence organises a lecture to pay homage to the memory of Antonio Cassese. The Antonio Cassese Lectures deal with topics dear to Antonio Cassese, such as the use of force and international humanitarian law, and always look at the practice of international law.
On 7 November 2017, the University of Florence will organise the Sixth Antonio Cassese Lecture on ‘The War in Syria: An Insurmountable Challenge for International Law?’. The conference will feature a number of excellent keynote speakers and war correspondent Francesca Borri, a former student of professor Cassese.
The annual Antonio Cassese Lecture is organised by the Faculty of Political Sciences and the Faculty of Law of the University of Florence with the financial support of Amnesty International Italia and the Regione Toscana.
